RANCHO CUCAMONGA — November 4, 2026, morning update. DeJonae Marie Shaw remains ahead of Kristine Scott in City Council District 2, now by 23 votes after all precincts reported for election night. This is a revised count, not a certified election outcome.
District 2: four candidates
Shaw has 2,211 votes (37.50%), Scott 2,188 (37.11%), David Vangorden 1,086 (18.42%) and Connie Velazquez 405 (6.87%). All 38 precincts reported for the night, but remaining valid mail and provisional ballots could change a narrow race. Earlier releases first showed Scott leading and then Shaw ahead by 15 votes.
Mayor: Kennedy holds a reported lead
The citywide mayoral count gives Lynne B. Kennedy 12,751 votes (38.36%) against Oliver King’s 11,308 (34.02%). Jaskirat Sondh has 3,368, Marjorie Hamada 3,262, and Michael R. Perez 2,528. These citywide totals should not be conflated with District 2 ballots.
Why the count remains open
All precincts having reported means precinct voting-place submissions for the night have been processed, not that all mail or conditional ballots are complete. The county’s canvass and certification will determine the elected representatives.
